A
really balance scoring attack by the Spurs with A. Riggs (5), J. Arrington (4

lead by L. Lester's 10 pts. A lot of
back and forth. This game could have
gone either way. Spurs unable to
overcome the full court pressure by the Class Acts which help them maintain
their lead for the win. |

Real
strong 1st halve by both teams with a 16 to 10 lead by the Tar Heels. Duke did outscore the Tar Heels in the 2nd
halve but not by enough to overcome the 6 point 1st halve lead. T. Gambill started wo warm up with his 3 pt
shot in the 1st halve but cooled down
to be held score less in the 2nd halve. Tar Heels hold on the the win. |
|
1:30 PM |
North Carolina - 3 |
v |
Class Acts - 5th/6th
- 37 |
N.
Carolina - H. Godhigh (2), Class Acts - M. Smith (12) |
Class
Acts - J. Balkcom (1) |
Too
much pressure from the Class Acts in the front court and back court. N. Carolina was unable to get into a grove
and set offense due to the pressure.
Class Acts used a pressure game where 6 players scored between 2 and
12 pts respectfully. A bit of a let
down from the first game of the day for N. Carolina but good opportunity to
work on playing against a pressure defense. |
|
2:15 PM |
Hoyas - 27 |
v |
Class Acts - 7th/8th
- 26 |
Class
Acts - W. Wright (9pts), Hoyas - R. Rivas (11pts) |
Class
Acts - K. Roberts (1), A. Fox (1), Hoyas - R. Riva (2) |
Has
to be the game of the week !!! Great
game between two very good Middle School teams. Class Acts held the lead most of the game
only to have Hoyas come back with pressure defense to tie the game on a last
second steal by R. Rivas and lay up by A. Tran. However, the Hoyas had just a little more
steam in the overtime to come away with the win. Two really good teams that are only going
to get better as the season continues.
Lot of action, hard play and great sportsmanship. |
|
3:15 PM |
Penn State - 7th/8th
- 36 |
v |
Running Rebels- 14 |
Penn
State - N. Gordon (16 pts), Running Rebels - C. Werts/S. Locke (4 pts) |
Penn
State - J.Cherry (1) |
Two
strong halve by the Penn State team detemined the results of this game with
leads of 9 pts in the 1st halve and 13pts in the second halve gave Penn State
the win. Penn State kept the Running
Rebels on their heels with pressure defense.
Running Rebels showed signs of a challenge but just could not pull it
together in time to come from behind to win.
Two good teams that are only going to get better as the season
progress. |
|
4:15 PM |
Eagles - 47 |
v |
Wizards - 16 |
Wizards
- J. Maruskin (2 pts), D. Hoyos (2 pts), R. Carr (2 pts), T. Mullican (2
pts), k. Werts (2 pts), Eagles - A. Cole (10 pts) |
Eagles
- J. Brown (1), G. Horrocks (1), R. Giles (1) |
Wizards
balanced scoring of 2 pts each by 5 players was not enough to help the
Wizards stay in the game. The Eagles
were just too strong in this game with
balanced scoring by 7 players with a
average score of 6 to 7 pts gave the Eagles the win. |
|
5:15 PM |
New Life Christian
RAMS - 11 |
v |
Vikings - 24 |
Vikings
- N. Dize (9 pts), NL Rams - R. Mills (6 pts) |
Vikings
- J. Urban (1) |
New
Life Rams were short on players this week which may have accounted for the
loss, however the Vikings did their part to ensure the win and sent a message
to their division as all 7 of their players scored in the 1st halve to give
them a 16 to 5 first halve lead.
Second halve was much closer as the Vikings only outscored the RAM by
2 points to secure the win. |
|
6:15 PM |
Urbana Elite - 44 |
v |
Hornets - 22 |
Hornets
- S. McKay (9 pts), Urbana Elite - C. Clark (11 pts) |
Urbana
Elite - J. Galloway (2), C. Clark (2) |
Urbana
Elite know for their sharp 3 pts shooting held up to their reputation with
two players putting down two 3 pts shots each. Strong scoring across the team by Urbana
Elite with 8 of their 10 players putting points on the board. Lead by C. Clark, J. Frizzell and G.
Drummond added 8 pts each to secure the win.
The Hornets put up a really good challenge but came up short. Hornets have a much better 2nd halve game
losing by only 7 points - however, out scored in the 1st halve by 15 pts was
too much to overcome. |
|
7:15 PM |
West Virginia - 39 |
v |
Hard Work - 47 |
Hard
Work - A. Tarr (10 pts), W. Virginia - B. Reese (14 pts) |
Hard
Work - B. Boehlert (2), j. Hughley (2), W. Virginia - J. Lango (1), M.
Considine (2), C. Kastner (1) |
Really
great game beween two very good Varsity teams. West Virginia started slow as Hard Work
came out the gate fast. However, only
a 1 pt difference in the 1st halve with Hard Work leading 21 to 20. Several high Flying scoring by both
teams. Hard Work's A. Tarr scored 8 of
his game high 10 potins in the 2nd halve to help his team maintain the lead and
the win. W. Virginia's B. Reese did
his damage with 9 of his game high 14 points in the 2nd halve. Really great game between two very good
teams. |
|
8:15 PM |
Lakers - 37 |
v |
Dallas - 55 |
Dallas
- J. Hill (13 pts), Lakers - T. Waters (12 pts) |
Lakers
- A. Craig (3), T. Waters (2), Dallas - J. Hill (3), M. Worrell (1) |
Fast
moving game with a lot of 3 pts shots made.
Dallas started off fast with a 3 pt shot by J. Hill to start the
game. Some power drives by Dallas
players countered by some sharp shooting by Lakers A. Craig and some strong
inside play by T. Waters to keep the Lakers close. Score did not represent the quality of play
and action in this game. Dallas gets
the win but Lakers will return stronger. |
