Game Time Home Team Away Team High Scorer 3pt Shots Game Summary
Week 2 - Sept. 13 8:15 AM Blazers -16 v Penn State - 13 Blazers - O. Jackson (6 pts), Penn State - J. Cherry (13 pts) Penn State - J. Cherry (1) Very close 1st halve with Penn State leading 8 to 7.  But the Blazers come back in the 2nd halve with a 5 pt scoring effort by m. Rawlett.   Very good game with lots of excitement towards the end as either team could have pulled it out.
9:00 AM Phoenix - 15 v Thunder - 16 Phoenix - C. Wade (8), Thunder - G. Miller (6) N/A Another very good Elementary Division 1 Game.  Slow start with a 4 to 4 score at halve time.  But scoring picked up in the 2nd halve with C. Wade putting in 6 pts while his Thunder opponent G. Miller and N. Batchlor added 2 pts.  Miller and Batchlor was enough to give the Thunder the win by 1 pt.
9:45 AM Comets - 16 v Hot Shots - 29 Comets - R. Hastie (13), Hot Shots - H. Gray (11) N/A Hot Shots extend their winning with a second win for the season against a really good Comets team.  Hots Shots played a balanced 1st and 2nd halve scoring with 15 pts in the 1st halve and 14 pts in the 2nd halve.  Comets keep the game close in the 1st halve which end with a 15 to 11 pt score.  However, a slower scoring effort of 5 points in the 2nd halve was not enough for the Comets to get the win.
10:30 Lancers - 12 v Spurs - 19 Lancers - O. Liberto (4), Spurs - J. Arrington (7) N/A Big scoring 2nd halve by the Spurs as they  pull the win out.  Fast start by the Lancers with a 8 to 3 lead at the halve.   But the Spurs come out in the 2nd halve to hold the Lancers to 4 pts while scoring 16  pts.
11:15 Duke - 21 v Penn State - 36 Duke - N. Smoot (6), Penn State - R. Dietz (8), N. Gordon (8) Penn State - J. Cherry (1), T. Cartnail (1) Penn State just a bit too strong for the Duke team.  However, Duke did have a balanced scoring effort with 7 players scoring during the game.  Duke unable to overcome a very slow start with a 1st halve score of 21 to 8.  But Duke played much better in the 2nd halve with a 15 to 13 second halve score.  Penn State gets a great effort from Dietz and Gordon along with some 3 pts scoring by J. Cherry and T. Cartnail.
12:15 Hoyas - 55 v Tar Heels - 25 Hoyas - R. Rivas (12), Tarr Heels - J. Walters (5) Tarr Heels - N. Moreland (1), Hoyas - T. Collins (1), R. Allen (1), N. Pollard (1), J. Dyson (1), R. Rivas (3) A balance scoring effort by both teams in both halves of the game, however the Hoyas scored about twice as much each halve.  Hoyas have 10 players scoring  which the Tarr Heels had 5 players scoring during the game.  Tarr Heel put up a very good effort but not enough to overcome the 10 player scoring effort along with some really good 3 pts shooting by the Hoyas.
1:15 Duke - 6 v Class Acts - 45 Class Acts - Z. Dunlap (8), S. Gonzales (3) Class Acts - J. Butler (1) Class Acts bring a very strong pressing full court defense that most teams are going to have to overcome to stay in the game with the Class Acts.  Holding the Duke team to 1 point in the 1st halve was too much for the Duke team to overcome.  Class Act have a well balances scoring effort in both halves with a 1st halve 25 point and 2nd halve 20 point effort.  Duke looses the 2nd of their double header game for this weekend.   Good effort  by Duke after playing two games in one day.
2:15 Hornets - 40 v Wizards - 20 Hornets - S. McKay (10), Wizards - j. Maruskin (7) Wizards - R. Carr (1), J. Mauskin (1),  Hornets - J. Colo (1), C. Shornock (1) Hornets get their first win of the season. Wizards were consistent with a 10 pt first and second have scoring effort, however the Hornets put in 13 more first halve points and  more second halve points to take the win.  Much better game than the score indicates.  Both teams played very well.
3:15 Running Rebels - 9 v Class Acts - 41 Running Rebels - B. Flannery (4), Class Acts - K. Roberts (10) Class Acts - A. Fox (1) Another high pressure full court pressure from the Class Acts to get off to a 19 to 4 first halve start.  Class Acts continues to hold teams from scoring against them by putting full court pressure causing back court steals and turning them into lay - up scores.  Most teams are having trouble with the full court pressure but never giving up.  Running Rebels gave a good effort but more of a learning experience game than having the ability to keep up with the high scoring effort by the Class Acts.   Class Acts go on to win the second of their double header game for the day.
4:15 Urbana Elite - 38 v Vikings - 29 Urbana Elite - R. Clark (12), Vikings - J. Shomaker (8) Urbana Elite - C. Clark (2), R. Clark (2), Joseph (1), Vikings - J. Shomaker (1) Urbana Elite continued their 3 point shooting attach as the Clark brothers added 1 three points shot efforts each.  Urbana Elite, a really good team that plays well together were too strong for the Vikings this day.  Vikings played very well making a come back several times during the game and at several times pulled within 2 to 4 points of the lead.   Very good game as the JV Division level.
5:15 New Life Christian RAMS - 22 v Eagles - 41 Eagles - D. Giles (12), NL Christian - A. Bennett (6) Eagles - J. Brown (1), G. Horrocks (1), A. Murray (1) Eagles extend their winning streak to 2 games for the season.  Really good balanced scoring effort by the Eagles.  Pressure defense and balanced scoring gets the Eagles their second win.  New Life came with a strong effort in the 1st halve but not enough to over come the Eagles scoring effort.  New Life showed a much better effort in the second halve as they started to figure out what was needed to stay in the game.
6:15 Hard Work - 74 v Lakers - 21 Lakers - J. Ford (6), Hard Work - J. Hughley (18) Hard Work - P. Dyson-Dimes (1), Ron (1), J. Huglley (1), C. Bland (1), Lakers - J. Ford (2),  Hard Work proved to be too, too much for the Lakers.  The high power scoring effort by Hard Work keep the Lakers on their heels and unable to generate any real offense.  However, the Lakers displayed a never give up attitude as they played hard until the last second of the game.  Lakers ran into what appears to be one of the best teams in their division for their second game of the season.  Laker coach will have a good basis to work on for the next match.
7:15 West Virginia - 50 v Dallas - 41 West Virginia - L. Summers (17), Dallas - J. Hill (15) Dallas - J. Hill (4), Anton (1), T. Dickerson (1), WV - L. Summers (3), M. Considine (2) Really good game in the Varsity Division.  WV took a 30 to 20 halve time lead to hold it in the second halve while being outscored by the Dallas team by 1 point.  Strong showing by Dallas but not enough for a very good West Virginia team.
  Bye Week - Lady Mystics & Class Acts  5th/6th & N. Carolina
  Class Acts - 7th/8th & Duke - Double Header
