Fall Basketball League 2012

This BCWB Fall Basketball League is a unique opportunity and program designed to provide continued competitive Basketball to those who just love to play and serve as a “tune-up” for the winter middle school travel and high school Basketball teams.  BCWB will provide Free practice site for local teams and pay for 1 hour of practice for remote teams at an agreed practice rate and site.   

Our Fall Basketball League is unique in that it provides you (the coach or player) the opportunity to work with your team as they prepare to enter into the various winter travel team and high school Basketball programs for which you may be or desire to become a member. 

The BCWB Fall Basketball Season will run September through October . The season will run on Saturdays and may play on some Friday nights.  All teams make the playoffs. Registration deadline is August 1, 2012 for Team registrations and August 23, 2012 for Individual registrations.

BCWB Fall League doe not require you to return to the same team or coach from last year.  We actually encourage you to enter as a school district, Community or AAU team.  Simply state on your registration you wish to be assigned to another team, team name or specify the team or coach you wish to be assigned.  We do expect teams to fill quickly as we will cut off each grade division at 4 teams.

If you are interested in coaching in our Fall League,  we are taking coaching request for Divisions grades 3rd to 12th.

Fact Sheet 

Teams: 

• Number of teams per division will be four (4)
• Minimum number of players per team will be 10  (Max 12 or coach discretion)
• All teams will be provided game jerseys.  (T-shirt style).  Teams will be responsible for coordination of shorts.

Team Division:  Grades are the grade you will start school in 2012 (this year)

• Elementary Division I – grades 3rd, 4th, 5th 
• Middle School JV - Division I – Grade 6th &7th 
• Middle School Varsity - Division II - Grade 8th
• High School JV - Senior Division I – Grades 9th & 10th 
• High School Varsity - Senior Division II - Grades 11th and 12th 

Games: 

• All Games are played on Saturday's at the New Life Christian School and Whittier Recreation Facility operated by the City of Frederick.  Department of Recreation.  Game site subject to  change.
• Game dates are September weekends thru October weekends
• All games will be played on regulation high school basketball courts. 
• Single elimination playoff games 
• All teams will make the playoffs
• Awards will be given to runner-up and championship teams only

Practice: 

• Practice location and times will be provided by Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries.  BCWB will pay the cost of practice sites for remote teams at a desired and agreed practice site in your location.  
• Practices will be held during the weekday/evenings. 
• Primary practice site will be Whittier Recreation Facility. 
• Each team will be provided a minimum 1 hour practice slot once a week.  Team practice day will be given on a first come/register first served basis. 

Basketball Governing Rules 

All games will be played in accordance with high school rules.
