This BCWB Fall Basketball League is a unique opportunity and program designed to provide continued competitive Basketball to those who just love to play and serve as a “tune-up” for the winter middle school travel and high school Basketball teams.  All Boys and All Girls Divisions (Girls divisions grade composition may vary depending on enrollment)   

Our Fall Basketball League is unique in that it provides you (the coach or player) the opportunity to work with your team as they prepare to enter into the various winter travel teams,  middle school and high school Basketball programs for which you may be or desire to become a member. 

The league will provide two (2) weeks of pre-season practices (1-hour practice per week for each team) and eight (8) additional weeks of practice per team during the regular season.  BCWB will arrange and manage all practices.  We offer reduced Teams registration rates for Teams who enter and take the option to exclude practices provided by BCWB (team will arrange their own practices).

Great opportunity for players and teams to gain 10 weeks of practice and 8 weeks of competitive Basketball prior to your November Winter Basketball programs.  League provides game t-shirts, Officials and eight (8) weeks of competitive basketball for a registration fee as low as $55.00 to $155.00 per player for players and teams.  Your rate will depend on special discounts offered and the registration period you elect to register.

The BCWB Fall Basketball Season will run September 16th through November 4th.  Pre-Season practices will start the week of Septeber 4th. Games will be played on Saturday Mornings/Afternoons. All teams make the playoffs. Registration deadline is August 1, 2017 for Team registrations and September  8, 2017 for Individual registrations.  There will be no refunds after August 1, 2017. 

The BCWB Fall Basketball League does not require you to return to the same team or coach from last year.  We actually encourage you to enter as a School District, Community, Club or AAU team.  Simply state on your registration you wish to be assigned to another team, team name or specify the team or coach you wish to be assigned.  We do expect teams to fill quickly.  Our minimum number of teams in any age group / Division will be 4 teams.

If you are interested in coaching in our Fall League,  we are taking coaching request for Divisions grades 3rd to 12th (both boys and girls teams).

Teams: 

• Number of teams per division will be four (4)
• Minimum number of players per team will be 10  (Max 12 or coach discretion)
• All teams will be provided game jerseys.  (T-shirt style).  Teams will be responsible for coordination of shorts.

Team Division (Girls Divisions may vary depending on enrollment)

    Grades are the grade you will start school in August/Fall 2017 (this year)

• Elementary Division – Grades 3rd and 4th (2nd Grade welcome to play)
• Middle School Junior Varsity Division – Grade 5th and 6th 
• Middle School Varsity Division  - Grades 7th and 8th
• High School Junior Varsity  Division  – Grades 9th & 10th 
• High School Varsity Division  - Grades 11th and 12th 

Games: 

• All Games are played on Saturday's at the Whittier Recreation and Thomas Johnson Middle School Facility operated by the City of Frederick Department of Recreation.  Game site subject to  change.
• Game dates are September 16th thru November 4th.
• All games will be played on regulation school basketball courts. 
• Single elimination playoff games 
• All teams will make the playoffs
• Awards will be given to championship teams only

Practice: 

• Practice location and times will be provided by Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries.   
• Practices will be held during the weekday/evenings. 
• Primary practice site will be Whittier Recreation and Thomas Johnson Middle School Facility.
• Specific Practice sites can be request by coach - request approved according to availability
• Each team will be provided a minimum 1 hour practice slot once a week.  Team practice day will be given on a first come/register first served basis. 
• Official practices will start the week of September 4th.  (Each team will have two weeks to practice prior to start of the season)

Basketball Governing Rules 

All games will be played in accordance with high school rules.

Officials: 

All games will be officiated by IAABO (high school) and Mid-Atlantic Independent Basketball Officials (MAIBO)
