This BCWB Fall Basketball League is a unique opportunity and program designed to provide continued competitive Basketball to those who just love to play and serve as a “tune-up” for the winter middle school travel and high school Basketball teams.  In addition, it includes a comprehensive value package to include optional ½ hour personal training and ½ hour fitness and conditioning sessions, for every players in the league, with qualified personal and fitness trainers.  All games will be officiated by certified High School officials.  Free practice site. 

 

Our Fall Basketball League is unique in that it provides you (the coach) the opportunity to work with youths as they prepare to enter into the various winter travel team and high school Basketball programs for which you may be or desire to become a member of their respective coaching staffs.

If you are interested in coaching older or younger youths, we are taking coaching request for grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades  (division) and grades 9th, 10th and 11th (division).

The BCWB Fall Basketball Season will run September through October. The season will run 8 weeks on Saturdays with all teams making the playoffs. See our “Fact Sheet” for more specific registration information about the program. Registration deadline is August 1, 2009 for Team registrations and August 22, 2009 for Individual registrations.

League Information 

Season Dates:  September to October - Saturdays

Location:  Whittier Recreation Center, Frederick, Maryland

Game Times: 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 AM, 12:00 Noon and 1:00 PM (Saturdays)

Teams:  Minimum 4 Teams per division 

Fee:

$130.00 per player  (grades 3rd - 11th)

$80.00 Per Player (12th to 30 years old)

TO APPLY: Complete League Registration Form and Official Team Roster or Individual Application.  Submit with fees to Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries,    P. O. Box 3528, Frederick, Maryland 21705. 
PRIORITY: Registration is first come, first served. 
TEAM ROSTERS:
  • All players registering as team must be listed on the roster.

  • Teams must carry a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 12/14

  • players on their roster.

  • Players may only participate on one basketball team. 

LEAGUE DIRECTOR Determines the number teams in each division.

Fall Basketball League 2009

Fact Sheet 

Teams: 

  • Minimum number of teams per division will be four (4)
  • Minimum number of players per team will be 10  (Max 12 or coach discretion)
  • All teams will be provided game jerseys.  (T-shirt style).  Teams will be responsible for coordination of shorts.

Team Division

  • Division III – current grades 3rd, 4th , and 5th 
  • Division II – current school grades 6th, 7th and 8th
  • Division I – current school grades 9th, 10th and 11th

Games: 

  • All Games are played on Saturday mornings between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the Whittier Recreation Facility operated by the City of Frederick Department of Recreation.
  • Game dates are September weekends thru October weekends
  • All games, Division I and II game will be played on regulation high school basketball courts.  Division IIII games will be played  “cross court”.  
  • Single elimination playoff games 
  • All teams will make the playoffs
  • Awards will be given to runner-up and championship teams only

Practice: 

  • Practice location and times will be provided by Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries.
  • Practices will be held during the weekday between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
  • Practice site will be Whittier Recreation Facility. 
  • Each team will be provided a minimum 1 hour practice slot once a week.  Team practice day will be given on a first come/register first served basis. 

Basketball Governing Rules 

All games will be played in accordance with high school rules.

Officials: 

All games will be officiated by IAABO (high school) officials.  

Player eligibility Rule (coaches are required to present birth certificate upon demand): 

  • Division III – current grades 3rd, 4th , 5th (player can not be 11 prior to Jan. 1)
  • Division II – current school grades 6th, 7th and 8th  (player can not be 15 prior to Jan.1)
  • Division I – current school grades 9th, 10th and 11th (player can not be 17 prior to Jan. 1)

Cost:   

*Individual Entry 

·        Cost will be $130.00 per player (grades 3rd to 11th)

                          $ 80.00 Per Player (grades 12th to 30 years old)

·        Registration deadline August 22, 2009

·        No Refunds after August 22, 3009

Optional Cost: 

·        ½ hour personalized Basketball Skill instruction add $ 20.00 Per session

·        ½ hour personalized Fitness & Condition  instruction  add $15.00 Per session

 

Players may add as many sessions as they feel needed

Optional Savings:  Each player has the option to participate in our Fundraiser Program                      

Ø      Fundraiser Program – Participants in our Fundraiser program will receive a $35 refund with the successful sale of a minimum of $100 or more of Fundraiser items.  Our Fundraiser program will feature “Uncle Ralph’s Cookies”.  Players will be required to pay the full amount of the cost for the league (including all optional cost) and will be refunded the $35.00 at the completion of the Fundraiser.  As an additional incentive and saving, an award will be given to the player who sales the highest amount in the Fundraiser.  Fundraiser program only available to grades 3rd to 11th.
